On-Site Effluent Treatment Regional Plan

Draft Plan Change 1 (Date Deferral for Small Communities)

Draft Plan Change 1 seeks to defer the dates on which conventional septic tank systems become discretionary activities for the Rotorua Lakes and western Bay of Plenty maintenance zone communities and those in Rotorua areas that have nitrogen reduction requirements.  The draft plan change was approved for public consultation at the Policy and Planning Committee meeting on Thursday, 10 December 2009.

Consultation meetings with affected communities

Environment Bay of Plenty and district council staff are meeting with affected communities to discuss the implications of the draft plan change.  If you live within an affected community we welcome you to attend a meeting in your area.  See meeting dates and venues below:

  • Maketū/Little Waihī – Tuesday 19 January, 7.00 pm, Maketū Fire Brigade Hall, Wilson Road North, Maketū
  • Te Puna - Thursday 21 January, 7.00 pm, Te Puna Community Centre, Maramatanga Park, Tangitu Road, Te Puna
  • Tanners Point and Ongare Point Combined – Tuesday 26 January, 7.00 pm, Katikati War Memorial Hall, Main Road, Katikati
  • Rotomā/Rotoehu - Thursday 28 January, 7.00 pm, Rotomā/Rotoehu Community Hall, State Highway 30, Rotomā 
  • Rotorua/Rotoiti - Monday 8 February, 7.00 pm, Pikiao Rugby League Club, Takinga Street, Mourea
  • Ōkāreka/Tarawera - Wednesday 10 February, 7.00 pm, Lake Ōkāreka Community Hall, Okareka Loop Road, Lake Okareka
  • Mamaku - Thursday 11 February, 7.00 pm, Mamaku Community Hall, Mamaku Street, Mamaku
