The Operative On-Site Effluent Treatment Regional Plan 2006 was made operative on 7 August 2006.
Proposed Plan Change 1 is a change to the On-Site Effluent Treatment Regional Plan. The plan change seeks to defer the dates on which conventional septic tank systems require consent for the Rotorua Lakes and western Bay of Plenty maintenance zone communities and those conventional and advanced systems in Rotorua areas (including Mamaku) that have nitrogen reduction requirements.
Proposed Plan Change 1 was publicly notified on 30 June 2010 and 19 submissions were received on the proposed plan change.
A Summary of Decisions Requested and copy of original submissions may be viewed between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, at the offices of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council at the following locations:

After the further submission closing date, the Council will makes its recommendations and a public hearing will be held to give the submitters the opportunity to make oral presentations to a Hearing Committee.
