| Plants for Coastal Conditions |
|
The land margin bordering the sea is a unique and sensitive where good vegetation cover is essential to preserve the soils and sands which are readily eroded by wind and water action. Coastal areas are also harsh and unforgiving environments requiring special plants which are capable of surviving in such conditions. It is preferable to use native plants to maintain the natural landscape character of the areas. Mulch plants well to suppress weeds and conserve soil moisture. Pest control in coastal areas is extremely important as the plants have enough to contend with already.
