Waimana at Ranger Station


Site Info:

The Ranger Station water level and rainfall recorder is situated in the Waimana catchment, some 25 km upstream of the Waimana township.

Summer water levels at this site can get as low as 1.55 metres but, normal water levels are closer to 1.85 metres. A high flood level of 7.65 metres was recorded at this site in July 1998.

The site records a mean annual rainfall of 2170 mm and daily falls of up to 240 mm.
